Artist Bio

I have been drawing ever since I can remember. I always had the urge as a child to make drawings as realistic as possible. My first pencil drawing I made when I was 10 years old. I was just so proud that I made a pencil portrait which resembled the person I drew. After that followed 2 Will Smith drawing, when I was about 11 years old. After that, I mostly did portraits of famous people. When I was 16, I moved to Perth, Australia and that's where I did my first paintings on canvas. The painting of the beach is actually one of my first paintings ever. In Aussie highschool I made many drawings for people as gifts. It makes me happy to see a smile on someones faces when I give them a drawing! 2,5 years later I moved back to The Netherlands. Since then I have made a few paintings, murals and drawings for people. Many as gifts or commissions. I haven't made a lot of work these last years, but now I am really motivated to make more! I shouldn't waist my talent!!! No one should... Make your life as productfull as you can!!!
I usually do realistic drawings and paintings, but occasionally I do something abstract or different if I have to do a commission. The things I usually make are beautifull landscapes, animals and portraits. My real and first passion will always be pencil drawing. I considerate my style of drawing not hyper realistic. I like it when you still can see some rough pencil lines. My shading is always pretty light and smooth. A "perfect" portrait in my opinion is getting all the proportions right and not trying to capture every little detail. The most important thing is to capture the true essence of the person or object. That cannot be taught, but you have to feel it and know it!
My main goal as an artist is to have a positive impact on someone with what I have created. I feel so happy and self-aware, when I am drawing or painting. It is like I find myself and know who I am. How weird that sounds...
